About the Project

Our long-time agency partner, Carpenter Group, who specialize in financial services, asked us to collaborate on reimagining the Thornburg website to better the user experience and performance for both site visitors and stakeholders. Our partnership began with an in-depth discovery process to unravel and understand their existing code and data structure and identify their needs for this new phase. We knew this would include integrations with platforms like Pardot and others, but it wasn’t until the discovery phase that we really began to understand the complexity ahead.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge with the development of Thornburg’s new site was making the connections and pulling the data from their external database via queries. Although they would be using WordPress as a CMS for much of their content, the most important data, specifically product and strategy data had to come from an external source as it is dynamic and used across other sectors external to the website. We had to work closely with the agency and client teams to display all of this appropriately and meet compliance requirements. Additionally, the website has many api integrations including Pardot and Interaction Studio (a Salesforce service) and Highcharts among others along with many custom features that required a long list of precise definitions. With a lot of patience, diligence and teamwork, together we put a complex yet useful improved version of the site online under tight time constraints.
